Hi, this is David Bach. New homes are often far from perfect. In fact, a study done by Consumer Reports revealed that 15% of newly constructed homes had serious defects. And J.D. Power and Associates recently reported a 7% increase in construction complaints by new homebuyers last year. My tip today: If you're considering buying a newly built home, don't assume that just because it's new, there's no reason for a home inspection before you buy.
