In early April, the Bureau of Labor Statistics reported that 80,000 jobs were lost in March -- and almost a quarter of a million since the beginning of the year. Many analysts are predicting that net job losses are likely to continue at least through August.

This past weekend, I spoke at The Go Green Expo in NYC--the very first event of its kind here in New York. And what an amazing success it was! There were over 50 seminars on topics like eco-travel and green entrepreneurship to water preservation and of course, how to save money by going green. There were also over 200 exhibits featuring energy alternatives, organic food and wine, green home and office products, cars of the future, even an eco-film showcase. Over 10,000 people attended and the energy of the whole event was just unbelievable.
The weekend was kicked off by the Go Green Expo Gala Awards Dinner. It was an absolute thrill for me to be honored as a media award recipient for excellence in Environmental Awareness. When I set out to write Go Green, Live Rich, I really had no idea the impact that this one little book would have. My purpose for writing it was to contribute in some small way to help turn the tide on global warming--simply because I care about this issue so much. I want to set an example for my son as well. If we all do our part--if we all just do that one green thing we can truly make a difference for this amazing planet that we all call home.
It was just an amazing event. We'll be posting photos and video on the blog shortly. If you didn't get a chance to attend, look for it next year and be sure to go. I'd like to thank Bradford Rand and his team for putting on one heck of an event. Well done!
